Sthala purana
Dharmapuri lies on the Godavari in northern Telangana. A distinctive custom here is that devotees first worship Yama, the lord of dharma and death, at the entrance before going in to the Lord.
Narasimha is worshipped in both his yogic and his fierce forms, and the town is a centre of Vedic learning on the Godavari.
