Sthala purana
Antarvedi stands where the Vasishta Godavari flows into the Bay of Bengal. Local tradition links it to sage Vasishta's penance, and to Narasimha slaying the demon Raktavilochana here.
The temple's festival is famous across coastal Andhra. Its kalyanam is held on Bheeshma Ekadashi in Magha and is followed by a grand ratha yatra.
